Valentina Silva

Valentina is an Investment Associate at Carao Ventures. She is responsible for assessing new investment opportunities and supporting portfolio company founders with strategic decisions.

Before joining Carao Ventures, Valentina was CFO and board member of Pinturas Tepuy, an up-and-coming paint and coating company in Venezuela. Before Pinturas Tepuy, Valentina worked as a Global Market Associate for four years at Nomura Securities in New York, a leading Japanese financial services group. At Nomura, she gained experience in structured credit and derivatives transactions across the Latin American region.

Valentina holds a dual degree with honors from George Washington University (GWU) in Finance and International Affairs, with a concentration in Latin America. While at college, she was actively involved in Latin American politics and sports. She held board member seats in several undergraduate political organizations and was president and captain of GWU’s Polo Club. Valentina is currently a student at IESA, doing an Advanced Management Program (PAG)

In late 2023, Valentina moved back to her home country, Venezuela. She is committed to finding unique opportunities across the region that contribute to its social and economic development. Valentina is particularly interested in credit democratization in Latin America and global energy markets.
