María Cristina Oreamuno
Maria Cristina is the Operations and ESG Manager at Carao Ventures. She works closely with the portfolio companies' founders and teams in order to coordinate, support, and monitor administration, regulatory, and compliance matters. María Cristina is also in charge of marketing, community management, and leadership initiatives for the regional startup ecosystem. As the Environmental, Societal and Governance (ESG) Manager María oversees the development and compliance of policy and procedures related to corporate responsibility and fair practices.
Before joining Carao Ventures, María Cristina was part of the operations crew of an exploration sailboat, the SY Hyperion, which successfully completed voyages to over 25 countries. Previously, she worked in operations positions for fashion brands such as Stela 9 in Antigua, Guatemala and Ralph Lauren in New York City, NY.
María Cristina recently completed her MsC in Globalization and Latin American Development at the University College of London with First Class Honors where she also worked as a research assistant on human rights issues. In addition, she has a BFA in Textile Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her design work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Craft Show, NeoCon and Interior Design magazine.
