ALLAN BORUCHOWICZ

Allan is the Co-Founder and Partner at Carao Ventures. He has worked with startups at different stages for the last 3 years, both in the US and Latin America. He focuses on financial services, mobile technologies, media & entertainment, e-commerce, and food & beverage. Allan led Carao Venture's investment in Saborstudio, where he currently acts as CFO. Some of his previous investments include NavSat and Mármol del Tempisque.

Prior to founding Carao Ventures, Allan was an Associate at Mesoamerica, a leading consulting and private equity firm in Latin America, where he conducted strategy projects for over 10 major companies in Colombia, Ecuador and Central America. He was part of the team that established the firm's operations in South America where he managed several investment projects from the initial stages of identification and evaluation to the later stages of strategy and execution within the portfolio companies. 

Allan holds a B.S. degree in Finance & Economics from Babson College.

ADRIÁN GARCÍA

Adrian is the Co-Founder and Partner at Carao Ventures. He has worked with early stage startups based in Latin America and Boston for the past 5 years. He focuses on the industries of e-commerce, education, mobile gaming and apps, cleantech and biotechnology. Some of his previous investments include Fair Play Labs and Heart Transverter.

Prior to founding Carao Ventures, Adrián was an Associate at Mesoamerica, a leading consulting and private equity firm in Latin America, where he was responsible for the development and oversight of investments in various industries. Notable examples include Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy and Earthwater Technologies. In addition, he has an active role in relevant causes in the country such as INBio/Bioinnovar (generation of biodiversity based businesses), MarViva (marine conservation), Pongamole (corporate volunteering) and the Internet Society (promotion of the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet).   

Adrián holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management and is a Global Young Leader of the BMW Foundation.

ARIE MORHAIM

Arie is an analyst at Carao Ventures.  He actively participated in the development of one of the first networks of angel investors in Costa Rica. He works on the selection and analysis processes of new startups, and assists the existing companies in a variety of business matters. He works closely with several startups in business development issues. Arie leads a platform that enables people in the entrepreneurial community in the region to connect in person (Costa Rica Entrepreneurship).

Prior to Carao Ventures, Arie worked in the security industry for over three years. He worked at one of the leading companies in Costa Rica, he conducted different consultancies where he designed strategies leading to improve the productivity and cost efficiency indexes.  He was in charge of the company wide administrative staff reengineering project and responsible for the client relations. Arie also has experience in the real estate industry where he has participated with several real estate development projects in Colombia and Costa Rica. In addition, he has been involved in various NGOs dedicated to the development of young leaders and social responsibility initiatives. 

Arie holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Interamericana.
