Allan Boruchowicz

Allan is Founder and Managing Partner at Carao Ventures. He has more than 15 years of experience managing private capital investments and has worked and invested in startups in different stages for the last 10 years in Latin America and the United States. He founded Carao Ventures in 2012 aiming to offer entrepreneurs in Latin America the same resources and opportunities that entrepreneurs in more developed markets have available to create and advance their startups. Allan serves on the board of directors of several Carao Ventures’ portfolio companies.

Before founding Carao Ventures, Allan worked for more than 5 years at Mesoamerica Investments, a management consulting and private equity firm in Latin America, from the Costa Rican office at first, and afterwards establishing operations of the firm in South America, with office overseeing the region based in Bogotá, Colombia. Prior to working in Mesoamerica Investments, Allan worked for a year at UBS Wealth Management US. Currently, Allan serves on the board of directors of Banco BCT, BCT Puesto de Bolsa, and BCT SAFI. He was also a founding member and director of the Central American & the Caribbean Fintech Association and CRBiomed, the Costa Rican cluster of biotechnology and life sciences companies. 

Allan is a Kauffman Fellow and has a B.Sc. degree in Business Management with concentration in Finance and Economics from Babson College.
